🌱 Greening Cumilla: Save Earth Society Plants 200 Trees for a Sustainable Tomorrow

Uniting Youth and Nature in the Heart of Cumilla

In a remarkable step toward environmental restoration and climate awareness, Save Earth Society successfully planted 200 trees in Cumilla as part of their ongoing “Green Bangladesh” campaign. The initiative, held on the outskirts of Cumilla Sadar, aimed to combat deforestation, reduce carbon emissions, and encourage community participation in environmental stewardship.

The plantation event brought together young volunteers, local farmers, and students who joined hands to plant indigenous saplings such as neem, mahogany, banyan, and fruit-bearing trees. These species were carefully selected not only for their environmental benefits but also for their ability to support biodiversity and offer shade, food, and oxygen in the long run.

“This isn’t just about planting trees—it’s about planting hope,” said Md Mahamudul Hasan, founder of Save Earth Society. “We are empowering communities to reclaim their green spaces and protect the planet one tree at a time.”

The campaign also included awareness sessions on the importance of trees for clean air, water preservation, and sustainable rural development. Residents pledged to care for the trees and ensure their survival, turning this one-day event into a long-term commitment.

This project is part of a broader goal to plant 10,000 trees across Bangladesh by 2026, aligning with global climate goals and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
