“Green Revolution Begins in Cumilla: Save Earth Society Takes the Lead”

🌱 Planting Hope, One Tree at a Time Across Tomson Bridge, Kandirpar, and Judge Court

In the face of rising climate threats, deforestation, and urban pollution, the Save Earth Society has launched a powerful counterattack—by planting trees. With a bold mission to plant 25,000 trees across Bangladesh in 2025, the organization kicked off its green initiative in the heart of Cumilla, targeting areas like Tomson Bridge, Kandirpar, and the Judge Court premises.

This campaign isn’t just about greenery—it’s about reclaiming urban space for sustainability, improving air quality, reducing heat, and restoring the bond between people and nature.

From Asphalt to Arbor: A Citizen-Led Green Movement

On a bright morning in May, over 60 spirited volunteers—youth leaders, students, and community members—gathered under the banner of the Save Earth Society to begin what they called a “Green Breakthrough.”

Equipped with gloves, saplings, compost, and heart, they planted hundreds of native tree species including mango, neem, guava, mahogany, and banyan along streets, public parks, and judicial compounds. These aren’t just trees—they are living testaments to a better, cleaner, more equitable future.

“Planting trees is one of the most peaceful acts of resistance,” said Md Mahamudul Hasan, the Founder of Save Earth Society. “We are not just planting roots into the soil—we are planting responsibility into our society.”

Why It Matters: More Than Just Shade

Cumilla’s growing urban sprawl has led to shrinking green spaces and increased carbon emissions. Through this project, the Society aims to:

  • Offset carbon footprints
  • Combat the urban heat island effect
  • Enhance biodiversity
  • Create micro-forests in neglected public spaces
  • Inspire climate awareness through direct action

Each sapling is geotagged and recorded by the volunteers to monitor survival and growth, ensuring that the effort doesn’t end at the planting stage.

More Than a Campaign—A Movement Begins

The tree-planting initiative is part of Save Earth Society’s broader mission to engage 5,000 young environmental volunteers by 2026. With plans to expand into school yards, riversides, and disaster-prone rural zones, this year’s 25,000-tree goal is just the beginning.

To make this vision a success, the organization welcomes public and institutional support—from donating saplings to sponsoring plantation drives in memory of loved ones.

Let’s Grow Together

Every tree planted today is a promise made to tomorrow. As climate change intensifies, these silent sentinels will provide life, shade, shelter, and air to future generations. But Save Earth Society cannot do it alone. This is a call to students, families, donors, environmentalists, and everyday citizens: let’s root our communities in hope.

Whether you plant one tree or 100, your action matters.
