Save Earth Society believes that good health is a basic right for every individual. With this conviction, the organization has been working to extend medical services to people who often remain outside the reach of healthcare—especially those living in rural and semi-urban areas like Barura Upazila of Cumilla. The Society’s goal is to offer free health checkups, spread awareness about preventive care, identify diseases early, and guide patients toward proper treatment. By combining health access with education, the organization hopes to build stronger and more health-conscious communities.
On [event date], Save Earth Society arranged a Free Medical Camp at Hazi Nawab Ali Pilot High School in Barura Upazila. More than one thousand residents from nearby areas came to receive free medical care. A team of volunteer doctors, nurses, and health workers joined hands to provide general health screenings, blood pressure and diabetes tests, vision checks, and guidance on personal hygiene and disease prevention.
The school was chosen because of its central location and easy access for villagers, which encouraged a large turnout. The impressive participation reflected both the local need for medical support and the growing trust people have in community-driven health services.
During the event, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Barura praised the initiative, saying:
“Barura Upazila is a model upazila for building a digital Bangladesh … I wish everyone’s cooperation and hardworking attitude for developing our country.”
The UNO’s remarks highlighted the importance of collaboration between the administration and voluntary organizations to ensure long-term health improvements at the grassroots level.
The medical camp had three major achievements:
- Improved Access: Villagers who usually struggle to afford or reach healthcare facilities received free treatment close to home.
- Health Awareness: People learned about healthy living habits such as balanced diets, cleanliness, and the importance of early diagnosis.
- Community Participation: The event brought the community together and laid the foundation for future health programs, including mobile clinics and awareness workshops.
Moving forward, Save Earth Society plans to continue its work in Barura and nearby upazilas by organizing regular health camps and creating a network of trained local volunteers. These volunteers will help monitor community health and promote positive lifestyle changes. The organization also intends to publish easy-to-understand health materials in Bengali and maintain partnerships with government hospitals for patients who need advanced care.
Save Earth Society expresses heartfelt gratitude to the Barura Upazila administration, the teachers and staff of Hazi Nawab Ali Pilot High School, the medical professionals who volunteered their time, and all the residents who participated. This initiative was not just a one-day event—it was a step toward a healthier, stronger, and more united Barura, where healthcare belongs to everyone.
